Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the ‘Technical Assistance for Increased Capacity for Transposition and Capacity Building on F-gases’ which is co-financed by the Republic of Turkey and the European Union and has the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanization as the beneficiary was held in Point Hotel, Ankara on September 21,2017. Mr. Sebahattin Dökmeci, the Deputy General Director of Environmental Management Directorate of TR Ministry of Environment and Urbanization inaugurated the organization held with the participation of people having a voice in the national and international platforms on the issues of climate change and the reduction of F-gases. Following the opening speeches, Ms. Pervin Doğan, theHead of the Department of Ozone Layer Protection, TR Ministry of Environment and Urbanization made a presentation on ”The Current Situation of the Policies Regarding Ozone Depleting Substances(ODS) and F-gases”. After the presentation of Dr. Janusz Kozakiewicz on “EU Regulation on F-gases517/2014: Recent and Significant Developments”, the Team Leader Önder Algedik and the Consortium Representative Pino G. Riancho introduced the project. Finally, the international experts Barbara Gschrey and Irene Papst informed the participants about the activities of the project. During the panel held in the second part of the opening ceremony, evaluations on ‘the Requirements for F-gas Legislation and Enhancing the Current Capacity’ were made. The private and public sector stakeholders expressed their opinions on Regulations of F-gases and ODS and had the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists in the session where TR Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, project experts and SOSIAD (Association of Refrigeration Industry and Businessmen) were the panelists.

The meetings and workshops of stakeholders will actively continue within the scope of Technical Assistance for Increased Capacity for Transposition and Capacity Building on F-gases.
